HDR in Helsinki: Suomenlahti

by Akseli Niemelä on Mar 1, 2012

This photo is from the beginning of January. It shows the Suomenlahti bay (part of the Baltic sea) as seen from Eiranranta area in Southern Helsinki. When the weather is good it is rumored that you can even see Tallinn from Helsinki (Tallinn is about 70km away on the other side of the bay). I haven’t tested it though. On this day it was very cloudy but not windy so it was good weather for photographing. When it winds and you are trying to photograph sea it can be tricky due to tripod moving. Suomenlahti especially has big winds and waves because it’s pretty open without many islands in front of Helsinki. Now there wasn’t such a problem :)
