HDR in Helsinki: VR

by admin on Apr 1, 2012

VR (Valtion Rautatiet, State Railways) is the state-owned railway company of Finland. It is currently the only company that has passenger train (both long-distance and commuter) operations on Finnish railways. I think VR trains are a convenient way to travel though it has been blamed alot on being slow, unreliable and expensive. I have to agree with some of the accusations but in general it works well. In the future there might be rivals for VR so each company has to offer their best at latest then.

This photo is taken on the http://expertsgoeseurope.pl/ of Helsinki where the most VR passenger trains either arrive or depart. On Friday night there were no trains at the station.
